So Far So Good

I'm winning! I'm winning! There are still nine days remaining before voting ends but things are looking good. Mommy and Daddy won't go into detail but they seem pretty determined to win. It's too bad that the winning photo could be the one you see on their website. There are so many other good photos of me!

I look good upside down!

Or how about a sleeping photo?

Oh well.

Accomplishments

Wow, am I already four months old? Based on all of my accomplishments, I'd say so.

  • I can jump up on the couch! Bones can no longer keep toys away from me by sitting on the couch. If he jumps up there, I'll be there too. Sorry Bones, your days of cheating are over.
  • I still need to work on walking down the big set of stairs but I can walk down the stairs in front and behind our house and no longer need to be carried.
  • I can also jump off the couch. Usually Mommy or Daddy help me up and when everybody gets up, I am stuck on the couch. If Bones is playing with a toy or getting hugs from Daddy, I would have to watch from the couch until somebody helped me down. When I am hungry (which is just about always), I am extra good at jumping off the couch. A pugs gotta eat!
  • Mommy and Daddy told me that I am doing very well at going potty outside.
  • I am definitely improving on my speed. Bones is still faster than me but I am usually not too far behind.
  • My food bowl is bigger than Bones'. Apparently, the larger bowl is supposed to slow down my eating. I suppose it is working. Whatever the reason, my bowl is bigger.

Chuck It or Chew It?

Mommy bought us a "ChuckIt" last week. We always see other people with this toy so I guess Mommy wanted to see what all the hype was about. You put the ball in the holder and you chuck it and it is supposed to throw the ball really far. Geordi and I have found an alternative way to enjoy our new toy. Instead of using the stick to throw the ball, we just play with the two parts separately. The stick part is really fun to chew on and Geordi and I fight over it all day long. We are having so much fun with it in the house that we haven't even tried it at the park yet. Who knows if the stick will last long enough for us to use it properly outdoors.

By the way, have you voted at Cordova's website? Or do you have more than one computer? Or maybe you know how to turn your cookies off? Regardless, make sure you vote!

The Return of Geordi

I'm back! The rumors are true, I had my big boy procedure done. I won't go into detail but let's just say I'm Geordi, minus two (if that makes any sense). I hope nobody was worried because I am perfectly fine! Nobody, other than Bones, told me this was happening to me. Mommy and I woke up really early one day and went on a car ride. No Bones, no Daddy... just Mommy and me. We ended up at the vet which is nothing out of the ordinary. Before I knew it, Mommy was leaving me with some stranger but I didn't mind. I figured I was finally experiencing this doggy day camp Bones is always talking about.

Apparently, the doctors were trying to draw blood but I was so oblivious and excited that they couldn't do it. For anybody who doesn't like shots and scary things at the vet, I found the solution. Just be really excited, it worked like a charm. Soon I was feeling really sleepy and I took the best nap ever. When I woke up, I felt a bit groggy but nothing to keep me from being my normal self. If it wasn't for the tightness of my stitches, I would have never known anything had happened. I suppose the pain medicine also helped me from feeling any pain.

Okay, so I wasn't that tough. I cried in the car ride home but I get to be a baby at least for one day, right? I think Bones was really excited to see me. I was excited too. I missed not having someone bothering me all day long. When I returned, Bones helped me rip off my bandaid and things returned to normal. They told Daddy that I was not allowed to play or take a bath. I have totally disregarded the no playing rule and when I returned home, I played harder than I ever had before.

After the first day, I couldn't run too fast but I am starting to feel like myself again. Mommy, Daddy, Bones and I took a long walk today and I chased Bones around the park. Bones and I also got a new toy today we have been running around the house ever since.

I have also started to collect all of my (or maybe they are Bones') toys in our bed. It is quite the collection.

I hope I didn't worry anybody with my surgery. Please know that I am perfectly fine and if I would have known this was happening, I would have told you sooner. Bones and I are back to playing and the pug tornadoes (as Mommy calls them) are back.

Before I forget, I want to show you my most recent victory over Bones. While fighting over a toy, Bones decided to drag me around while I was still laying in our bed. Well, I planned it perfectly so that when he turned around he would run into the crate door and drop the toy, leaving me with the victory.

All By Myself

I forgot what it was like to spend time alone. Ever since Geordi became a part of our family, I have always had someone to hang out with, even if Mommy and Daddy weren't home. Yesterday, I felt like an only child again. Geordi had to spend the day at the vet because he was getting fixed. Being the older brother and all, I tried my best to prepare him for what would happen to him. I was so young when it happened to me that I really don't remember anything. But I pretended as though I remembered just so Geordi would trust me.

Mommy and Geordi left really early in the morning and once Mommy went to work and Daddy went to school, I became the man of the house. I took a nap on the couch without anybody laying on top of me. I ate without Geordi trying to steal my food and when Mommy gave me treats, I had nobody by my side. I enjoyed eating in peace and being the only one to receive treats but other than that, I missed having my little shadow around.

Eating in Peace

Kind of weird to not have Geordi in this photo..
Geordi finally came home in the evening and I was happy to have him back in one piece. He isn't allowed to play or jump but he is totally disregarding the rules. He's a pretty tough puppy because you would never know that he had surgery yesterday. Even though I was excited to have my brother home, the best part of yesterday was Geordi finding the mini football at the park.

Snow Melt

The weather is starting to warm up! I can't remember the last time Mommy made me put on booties or a jacket. Maybe Mommy gave up on booties because the thought of having to put them on both me and Geordi scares her. Regardless of what her reasoning is, I am not complaining. The snow at the park is slowly starting to melt and we are spending more time outdoors. This weekend Geordi and I went to the park several times. The best part of this weekend was going on a real walk with Mommy and Daddy around our neighborhood. We used to do this all the time when it was warmer and I am happy that Geordi can finally walk on a leash. I can't wait to go on more walks!
