Photo Contest

Mommy entered me in a photo contest before she started working. Now that she doesn't have time to spread the word, she is making me work for my own votes! We know we probably won't win because some of the other Mommy and Daddy's spend all day trying to get people to vote but it will be fun to try. I heard my brother won a photo contest already so I at least have to give it a shot!

Click on the little badge on the side and vote for me!

Mommy's Birthday

Today is Mommy's birthday! We didn't get to have any but Mommy and Daddy ate dinner and birthday cake. We were supposed to help Daddy sing happy birthday but we let him have the spotlight! I think Mommy enjoyed it. Sure, we didn't get any cake but we were allowed to sit at the table like grown ups!

Dog Show

Did anybody else watch the Westminster Kennel Club dog show last week? I always assumed I had no interest in watching dog shows but when Mommy was watching it, I watched too. We only watched the toy breeds and once we realized that the judge didn't pick the pug as a top contender, we knew the dog show was bogus and watched something else.

Usually the pugs are pretty chunky and ugly looking but the one we saw was a good looking pug. I could be friends with that guy.

Geordi Update

Hi, it's me Geordi. I am feeling better and no longer have a runny nose thanks to the gross medicine I have been taking. I am getting bigger every day and I think this is starting to make Bones nervous. I finally started going potty in the snow again and this has made Mommy very happy. Not only am I going potty in the snow but I actually like playing in the snow. The snow is really deep but I have learned to run through it in order to run after Bones.

I am certain that Bones is used to having me around now. I realize I talk about my brother a lot but we see each other 24 hours a day. I can't help it. I know Bones has accepted me because he recently let me sleep on the bed with him, Mommy and Daddy. Sleeping with my family is possibly the best part of my day. I make sure to snuggle as close to Mommy or Daddy as possible and if Bones allows it, I lay on top of him. It sure beats sleeping in my crate all by myself! Bones and I used to always have a wrestling session before falling asleep but now we just go straight to bed.

We have been spending a lot of time with our friend Dodger. When his Daddy has the day off we have playdates. I usually call it quits after awhile because Bones and Dodger go at it for much longer than I can handle. However, I did play kung-fu with Dodger. Check out how tough I look.

This kung-fu session only lasted a few minutes and before I knew it, Bones and Dodger were doing big boy things and I was left with the crocodile. Here I am doing my best imitation of my new reptile friend:

I am really thankful that my big brother has learned to cope with my ways. To my surprise he actually lets me lay on top of him whenever I want. I am sure it annoys him but the fact that he puts up with it makes him a pretty great brother! I wonder how he will handle me laying on top of him when I am bigger? I suppose I will worry about that when it happens.

I just wanted to share this last photo because I look like one tough pug. And see Bones in the background with an oddly terrified look on his face? Love it.

Valentine's Day

So much snow lately! Bones and I have become very good at lounging around on the couch next to the fireplace. I recently discovered that I am not a fan of snow. It is too cold. And I refuse to potty in the snow.

I had to go to the vet this week because Mommy thought I had a puppy cold. She was right and now I have to take antibiotics. Medicine time is my least favorite time of the day and I gave Mommy and Daddy quite a hard time today. At least I get treats afterwards! During my trip to the vet I found out that I am already seven pounds! Watch out Bones! I am catching up to you!

My first Valentine's Day was spent with my family. We lounged about and watched the hockey game and Bones and I have been fighting over toys all day long. Sounds like a pretty good Valentine's Day to me.

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!

Snow Storm

There is so much snow outside! The snow is so deep that Geordi disappears in it when we go outside to potty. Geordi refuses to move after he falls in the snow and Mommy usually picks him up. I am happy that I am big and tall enough to enjoy the deep fluffy snow!

Brothers

It's been almost two weeks since Geordi became my brother. It was not an easy adjustment and sharing all of my things seemed to be the worst part. Now that some time has passed, I am beginning to accept the new change in my life. We still fight for Mommy and Daddy's attention but it has been fun having a brother around. We play a lot more than we used to and we actually do more than just wrestle. I hate to admit that he is showing improvement in his chasing skills and we run around the house all day long. Geordi still doesn't sleep on the bed but when we wake up and go potty, Mommy and Daddy let him up and we usually play and take a nap together. Every once in awhile (if I am really tired) I will let Geordi snuggle with me.

Uncle Joe says that I often act emo when I don't get attention. This is true and my sadness usually affects one person or another and I will get my way. Clever, right?

We both had to take a bath yesterday. I enjoy bath time because it is so relaxing. I just stand there while Mommy cleans me and Daddy usually brings over a towel straight from the dryer. Once we were both dry, Mommy turned on the fire place for us and before we knew it, it was bed time. I know, our lives are so hard!

Try Not to Forget

Hey, remember me? Bones? It feels like everybody has forgotten about me since Geordi came along. Okay, maybe I am being a bit over dramatic but I want your undivided attention NOW.

I recently learned that I have to share my blog with Geordi. Luckily for the very few readers I have this may result in me blogging more consistently to ensure that I out-blog my little brother. We are pretty competitive and I don't like to lose.

I am already bigger than him (although, I hear that won't be the case forever), I can run faster than him and I can do more tricks. More points for Bones! Even though we are competitive, I am learning to have fun with him. He has started to follow me around the park and when he is feeling really brave, he will try to snatch toys from me. This usually results in a little bit of wrestling and running around which is pretty exciting.

Yesterday at the park, he tried convincing me to share this awesome stick I found. I had to deny him because I already share everything else with him and he isn't into sticks like I am. This stick was like five sticks in one! He didn't care too much and eventually gave up.

Thanks to Geordi being a puppy, we get to go outside every few hours. I am thoroughly enjoying it and taking advantage of every opportunity. I liked my puppyhood better because it was much warmer when I was his age and we were able to stay out much longer. Eventually Geordi gets cold or Mommy gets frustrated because I forget to concentrate and do my business, and we make our way back into the house. I don't mind because I know that in a few hours we'll come back outside!

Our days have started much earlier than I am used to. I don't know how he does it but Geordi wakes up super early. Everybody wakes up (including myself) and we make our way outside. We eat breakfast during my normal sleep time and after a small play session, I have to take a nap. I guess I'm not much of a morning person.

Hello, I'm Geordi

Hello, my name is Geordi La Forge Royster. Like my big brother, I too am named after a great Star Trek character. I was born November 22, 2009 in Indiana and that makes me 11-weeks old. Bones and I have different colored fur as I am black and not fawn. I am 12 inches long and weigh 5.7 pounds. One day I hope to be as big as my big brother.

Mommy considers me a brave puppy because I am not afraid of a whole lot. I play with my brother's toys without asking and try to grab pieces of his food while he is not looking. Who am I kidding, I try to eat his food even when he is looking! Mommy and Daddy have come to find that as much as I love playing with my brother Bones, I would much rather sit on their lap. I have a deeper bark than my brother did as a puppy and am not afraid to use it when I want Bones to listen.

I potty a lot but try very hard not to go inside the house. I am definitely faster at going potty than my brother. My brother and I are becoming very competitive so I thought I would mention how fast I am when we go outside to do our business. We are constantly wrestling over toys and running around the house to play keep away. Regardless of whether we are laying on the couch, the floor or the bed, we always find time to wrestle. Bones if you are reading this, enjoy my small size now because it won't last forever!

I guess my brother will have to share his blog with me every once in awhile. Mommy said that at the end of every post, it should say who posted. Does this post have my name on it?

January Thaw

My favorite time of the month is when we attend pug meetups! It is way better than daycamp and I wish meetups happened more often. This was Geordi's first time going and the minute we walked in, everybody began focusing on how small and cute he was. This would usually bother me but meetups only happen so often and I had a lot of playing to do! Unlike last time, we stayed later and Geordi and I were both exhausted. Geordi actually ran around instead of sitting in Mommy and Daddy's arms. Don't tell anybody but I was pretty proud.
