Santa, you're the best!
Nothing more exciting than a brand new chew bone from Santa! He must have known that my old bone was starting to fall apart. And being a good boy probably helped too. Chewing the purple and yellow nylabone is a pre-bedtime routine and now I have a brand new one to work on while everyone falls asleep before me. Hope your xmas was as awesome as mine!

Missing: Snowman Tie
My holiday tie is missing and I am growing concerned. I don't usually promote clothing or accessories of any kind but my holiday tie get-up is the only exception. Not only do I feel festive but it makes me feel like a really cool pug. I had mommy search in all of the places she usually puts the collection of worthless shirts/jackets, etc but we were unsuccessful in locating it. There are a few holiday events coming up and my missing attire is stressing me out. Seeing as how we (and by we, I mean mommy) searched the entire house with no luck, there is only one logical explanation for the sudden disappearance of my awesome snowman tie: daddy must have thrown it away. Usually I would have no issue- throw away our hoodies, the booties and all of the halloween costumes but my holiday tie? No! Daddy if you are reading this and you did in fact throw it away, please let me know. I may have to ask mommy for a new one.

Will Wobble for Food
This pug's life isn't always easy. Everyone thinks we sit around, sleep, cuddle and eat but now it is time to reveal how untrue that can be. Recently, Mommy and Daddy had the "brilliant" idea to slow down my food intake by putting all of my kibble in my wobble. The wobble was my 1st birthday present. The toy's purpose is to stimulate my brain and use my doggy problem solving skills. Instead of scarfing down my food, I have to work and use my puggy brain before eating! Can you believe that? It really isn't that big of a deal because I love to wobble but I just feel cheated since Bones gets to eat out of his normal bowl.
Oh well, food is food I suppose.

Super Bones.
Due to rain rain and more rain, no trick or treating for us this year. Actually, no trip to the botanical gardens either. Hm, this year was a bust! Another Halloween down.
SuperBones out.

Call me Batman.

Hi friends. Sorry, I have been so bad at blogging lately. We have been attempting to enjoy what is left of warm weather before winter makes its way. Pretty sure it will be here in no time because I have been extra insistent on being under the covers during bed time. Luckily for me, all I have to do scratch the blanket a little bit to let Mommy know when I am ready to make my way into the blanket cave.
Now, the worst part about winter almost being here would be halloween and sweatshirts. We already wore our sweatshirts out one day last week and Mommy managed to buy us last minute costumes even though we are unable to make it to the Spooky Pooch Parade at the botanical gardens this year. I really thought we had managed to escape wearing costumes this year...

Treat Loop Hole
I'm kind of smart and here is why.
Mommy and Daddy give us treats when we go potty during our walks. Geordi is all about getting it all out at once. He pees until there isn't a single drop left and that's that. Then, he runs over to get his treat. He might think his way is better but I've got it figured out.
My methodology is different because I believe in spreading the wealth. A drizzle of pee here, a splash of pee there. If my parents would allow it, I would pee on every single tree/bush/leaf/mushroom/mcdonald's bag on our route. I have outsmarted everyone by splitting up my pee sessions in order to obtain more treats. Here's something I know Mommy won't like: sometimes I don't pee but do my potty dance when Mommy isn't paying attention. Before I know it, she thinks I peed and the treats start coming my way! Sometimes my brilliant plan fails me (usually with Daddy) but sometimes I definitely get more treats than Geordi.
Yup, I'm pretty proud of myself.

Ants!
Guess who gets to see the doggy eye doctor next week? Me! I am tired of this big eye booger living in my eye. Hopefully the eye doctor has some good treats, no plain tasting ones. Mommy agrees and says that with all the moneys this is costing her, the treats better taste like heaven.
Guess who stuck his nose in a pile of ants and had them crawling all over his mouth? Yup, this pug! In my own defense, it was dark and I assumed they were tiny peanut butter treats running around. The minute I stuck my face into this pile of "mini peanut treats" my face felt like it was being bitten a million times. Luckily daddy noticed my face twitching dance and we discovered the problem. Ants! They are everywhere, so watch out!

Beach Beach Beach!
First day back from the doggy hotel and we headed straight to the beach! Don't get me wrong, Paradise4Paws was a blast but I missed the outdoors. Now we just need consistently warm weather so we can play at the beach everyday!

Beach Time!
Walks to the beach have become a nightly routine. I am very excited about this, especially because the weather has been very un-pug-friendly. It's hard walking around the block without overheating but that walk is worth it as long as we are en-route to the beach. The best part? Beach fun has included Daddy!
WaterPug from Meesa Maeng on Vimeo.
Winter was long and I had forgotten how fun and refreshing the beach could be. I was afraid at first but before I knew it, I was fetching sticks in the water and following Daddy out as far as I could go. Daddy and I have been walking out into the water and standing out there, climbing on rocks and standing around just to cool off. Geordi does his own thing, fishing for algae. It got him into some trouble because he became so obsessed with it that he plunged into the deeper part. I became concerned and ran in to help him. He apparently didn't need my help and managed to swim his way out of his clumsy situation.
Happy summer!

Grades
Bones and Geordi's report card from their stay at Paradise 4 Paws:
They were also listed as "Class Clown" in the Classroom category. I'm assuming this was Bones.
Great report card, boys! Let's hang it on the fridge.
Bones & Geordi were a couple of party animals here at Paradise 4 Paws! Bones is much more people-oriented than Geordi, but they both love a good rump scratch. Bones & Geordi were basically attached at the hip during playtimes-bouncing and barking and running in sync. If one of the pair were to separate, it was usually Geordi first. I think he had a crush on a little Shih Tzu named Sookie. The two of them could often be found chumming around with a pair of French bulldogs, Ziggy & dozer. The four of them were a sight to see! So rambunctious and fun! There were so many distractions that neither of them ate much more than a few bites at meal time. Their potty breaks were all regular htough, so no worries there! Bones and Geordi are two of the most adorable, fun and lively little guys that we have ever met and we truly enjoyed getting to know them over the past few days. we love you Bones & Geordi! Come back and visit us soon!

Going on Vacation
The only positive to a rainy day is that Mommy feels bad that we can't go outside and takes us to daycare. I am only a dog but I am pretty sure the weather should be warmer this time of the year. Daycare day means we have to get up earlier and take the car ride to work with Mommy but Geordi is the only one who whines and cries about it. I personally love it and I don't miss out on my morning sleep because I can sleep in the car!

Mommy and Daddy are going to the races this weekend so we will be spending time at a doggy hotel. We have never been to this one but my online research tells me that it will be fun for us. Usually, I don't like leaving Mommy and Daddy but this is only for one night, I have my brother and there is an indoor bone-shaped pool!
Don't worry, I will report back about the pool.
(By the way, this is Bones. Not Geordi.)

New Friend, New Hobbies.
There's nothing more exciting than meeting a new puggy friend! Holiday lives just down the street from us and we have enjoyed numerous playdates at the park. He looks a lot like Bones and I am slightly disappointed about being outnumbered by those hot shot fawn pugs.

The minute the three of us are together at the park, it's strictly business. With Chicago's bipolar weather, there is no time to waste. When it's time to play- it's time to play. We chase each other until a water break is in order, then it's back to chasing and rolling around.

Like I said, I'm outnumbered. What a bunch of bullies.

This spring, I have found my new favorite hobby. I have decided to be the best pug bird chaser. I am constantly on the prowl and refuse to be distracted. That requires some serious concentration.

I know this photo is blurry but it is the only proof I have. So close! What would I do if I ever caught one? Not sure yet, but I will report back when that time comes.

To Daddy. Love, Geordi.

Hi Daddy!
You're coming home tomorrow! I hope I got my days right. Since you've been gone, I have been watching a lot of tv, eating lots of food and taking awesome awesome naps. Of course, there's day camp, which I tried resisting. I planted my feet when we came up to the entrance of Urban Outsitters and resisted treats but it wasn't enough, the lady picked me up and made me leave Mommy. Eventually, it was fun and I played with all of my friends but I did miss Mommy a lot.
We took a really long walk today. My only complaint is that we had to wear our sweatshirts. I thought we were done with those but they are back and so is winter. Boo! I'd continue writing but there's a dog on TV and I need to scare it away!
Please don't forget to bring us treats from West Virginia,
Geordi

To Daddy.
Dear Daddy,You've been gone for ten days, how is West Virginia? It can't possibly be as much fun as Chicago. We had a glimpse of spring and summer last week. But this past week has been rainy and gloomy; today we actually had snow. Mommy said you are coming back in a few days. I checked the weather for you and it looks like you will be brining back winter weather with your arrival.
Guess what we are doing tomorrow? Going to daycare! Mommy must have a long day at work tomorrow. Geordi has been learning bad things at daycare, I won't go into specifics now. But please make sure you have a nice long talk with him when you come home.
We went to the vet again today to check my ears. Both Geordi and I have actually been sick this past week but I think it's a reaction to the vaccine we got last week. Lots and lots of watery poop! You're lucky you've been away. Mommy has been making us homemade food with rice, chicken and vegetables. It's delicious! She made a second batch today so I guess it means we will be having more.
I have to go to bed to prepare for a long day of play at daycare tomorrow. If you're not too busy, make sure you keep an eye out for us on the daycare webcam! Can't wait to see you this weekend.
Your favorite son,
Bones

Warm Wednesday

It's finally sunny out! Not only was it sunny today but it was fifty degrees! We woke up early and went out to spend time at the park with all the kids before heading to the vet. Because there were so many kids, we couldn't run around freely but Mommy promised dog beach later in the day, so it was fine.
Before heading to the vet we stopped at Charmers. For the first time, Mommy tied us up outside while she went to order food. Usually Daddy stays with us while Mommy goes in but with Daddy being gone, she had no choice. It was restricting and kind of scary at first. But before we knew it, she was back and we found a place to sit outside.

For the third straight week, we went to the vet. Mostly because my ears are dirty but we also needed to update our vaccines in order to obtain our park tags this upcoming spring. This visit hurt and i'm pretty sure Mommy and Geordi heard me cry.

We headed home to eat before going to dog beach. Five months. It's been five months since we went to the dog beach! Why is winter so long? Everyone in Chicago must have been excited about today's weather because the beach was pretty busy. We took some pictures with Mommy's camera but they magically got erased. The phone photos will have to do.
We spent so much time outside today that our noses were slightly sunburned. I guess that's what happens when you make up for five months of cold weather!

Noteworthy
Here are a few noteworthy updates on life:
Bones and I went ice skating last night! How many dogs can say that? Our old park, Touhy Park, is frozen in certain places. During our walk last night, Mommy and Daddy decided to play on the ice. Bones and I joined in and we went slipping and sliding all over the place.
The weather has been warmer and the snow is finally melting. We were surprised to be walking on patches of grass. Remember grass? I completely forgot about grass until it randomly appeared yesterday. It was a nice familiar feeling under my paws. Welcome back grass, hope you're here to stay!
Bones and I are not only cute, smart, hungry, handsome, awesome.. (too much?) but we are also technologically up to date. We do have our own blog after all. We've taken it up a notch and can now be found updating our statuses on Facebook. Check out our cool badges on the side of our blog! Facebook us!

Surviving Blizzards

The blizzard came and went and we survived. We actually went outside with Mommy to put stuff in storage during the blizzard and it was pretty scary. Pretty sure it was the coldest I have ever been but luckily for us, it was only for a brief time. The best part of the blizzard was snow day for both Mommy and Daddy. We lounged about in our warm house and did as much playing indoors as we could. Once the blizzard was over, all four of us made our way outside to see the damage. Our street was covered in soft snow and all of the neighbors cars were buried. Geordi and I swam through some pretty deep parts but enjoyed every minute of it. Thank goodness for booties!

Snow Beard
For the first time in awhile, we went to play at our old park. Aside from the big dent on the fence, everything else was the same. The park we go to now is fun but it's always more fun to play at the park you grew up going to. Bones and I ran around with Mommy and I managed to make myself a snow beard. The snow beard comes with every visit to the park and I like to think that it looks good on me.

Feeling Left Out
It sucks being the baby in the family. Today, Bones got to go to work with Daddy. I knew something was going on when I realized that Bones had his harness and shirt on and I was still running around the house naked. I am old enough to know that when this happens, something fishy is going on. Before I knew it, Daddy and Bones were out the door and I was left alone with Mommy and the vacuum. Don't get me wrong, I love hanging out with Mommy but I can't help but be jealous when Bones gets to go to Daddy's office.

I cried, I moped around the house with my best attempt at the act of doggy depression. Nothing worked and I was still at home. To forget about this feeling of neglect, I took a nap. I woke up to find Bones on the computer screen. We video chatted for a bit and then Mommy had to leave. That's right, everyone in my family left me to fend for myself!

Luckily everyone returned pretty soon after Mommy left. Apparently, Mommy had to go buy hamburger buns for dinner. The only part of the day worth mentioning? Daddy made us our own mini burgers for dinner!
