Subway

Daddy says I am getting bigger everyday and that by the time Mommy gets here, I will be a much bigger dog! I think this makes Mommy sad and if there was a way to stay small, I would try. The last few days have been exciting because Daddy's friend Keith came to visit us. While Keith was here, Daddy took me on the subway and we went to eat Breakfast. I had to sit on the other side of the fence while Daddy and Keith ate because I was a dog. That made me sad. But hopefully next time we can find a place where I can sit with Daddy while he eats!

Bones & Lily

I met a new friend at the park today. The picture isn't very good, but Daddy sent it to Mommy. Her name is Lily and she is exactly seven days older than me. We rolled around at the park and really tangled up our leashes! I have a feeling we will be seeing more of each other at the park! And just in case you couldn't tell, I'm the pug on your right!

To the Doctor

Guess what? I weigh 6.3 pounds!

Today was my first visit to the vet with Daddy. When we left the house and Daddy put on my leash, I thought we were just going on our normal walk. Our walk ended at the Zipcar and while Daddy drove, I sat on his lap and chewed on his shorts. I jumped out of the car to find out we were at Petsmart! Remembering all the toys and treats I got last time, I was excited. But today's visit to Petsmart included a trip to the doctor! Everything was fine until they gave me a shot. I tried really hard not to cry but the pain was unbearable!

Daddy must have heard me crying because he took me to pick out a toy after I was finished. I tried really hard to walk, but I was too tired. Daddy must have noticed because he picked me right up and I laid in his arms throughout the store. I got my toy, new dog food and some information about puppy classes. I think I heard Mommy telling Daddy that we are going to attend classes when she gets home!

Before I knew it, I was home and ready for a well-deserved nap.

Madagascar and Mail

Two nights ago, Daddy and I went to the park. There I saw the biggest TV screen I had ever seen! It was waaay bigger than the one at home and the park was filled with people watching Madagascar 2. We got there late, but I tried to watch as much as possible while eating rocks, putting sticks in my mouth and sitting on daddy's lap. I hope Mommy and Daddy take me to the zoo so I can see the talking animals I saw in the movie! I have come to find that I not only like watching television but I really enjoy people watching.

Today I received a package in the mail from Mommy! My toy collection is rapidly growing but I won't complain because now I can play with different toys all day long. Mommy also sent me some peanut butter treats and cleaning supplies for my nose wrinkle and ears. Thanks Mommy! I talked to Mommy this morning before Daddy went to work. Daddy showed off how much better I am getting at tricks! Hopefully Daddy comes home soon from work, I'm hungry and ready to play!

Secret Spot

The secret is out! My secret pooping spot has been discovered. Daddy was probably wondering why I haven't been pooping very much when we go outside to potty. Mommy and Daddy's bikes are standing up against the fireplace and while I was exploring back there, I decided to make it my poopy spot. Daddy told Mommy this morning that he smelled it and had to check back there twice before discovering my hidden stash of poop! If only Daddy wouldn't have caught me in the act this morning... My secret spot would still exist! Now Daddy is mad at me again, and I heard him telling Mommy that he doesn't have time for my bad behaviors and that she needs to come home soon! Maybe if I keep pooping and being a bad boy, Mommy will come home sooner!

Sit

I am so embarrassed! Daddy and I went down to the lobby and I really wanted to go outside. So much so, that I ran towards the outdoors and hit the glass door! Oops.

Peeing outside has proven to be much more difficult than expected. I have been good at pooping outside but its so much more comfortable to pee inside in the comfort of my new home! This makes Daddy mad and I regret doing it afterwards. When will I learn?

My newest accomplishment is that I am learning how to sit! I told Mommy over the phone today and she was very sad that she missed it! I promised her that I would learn other tricks to make her happy when she comes home!

Daddy Time

Mommy moved my bed on the floor right next to her side of the bed. I like sleeping in the same room as Mommy and Daddy. But after being home for many hours while everyone went to the aquarium, I was full of energy! Mommy and Daddy were ready for bed, but I wanted to run around! I ran under Mommy and Daddy's bed making lots of noise over and over again, and then whined until Mommy picked me up and let me lay in bed with her. I was really excited and forgot that I was not supposed to pee on the bed. Maybe it was the scent of my previous accident nearby, or possibly the excitement. Before I knew it, I wasn't on the bed anymore and Daddy moved my bed into the kitchen. I guess I shouldn't have gone potty on the bed, especially on me and Mommy's last night together.

Some days I think I do really well and potty outside. But every once in awhile, I forget. Hopefully when Mommy gets back, I will be better potty trained! I watched Mommy and Ethan get into a taxi as they left for the airport. Daddy held me while Mommy gave me kisses. When they drove away, Daddy and I waved as the taxi disappeared around the corner. I miss Mommy but Daddy and I will have quality time together while she is gone.

Daddy started work yesterday and although he is gone for a few hours, I love it when he comes home! We go outside together and I go potty, and hopefully when the park isn't so busy, we can go there soon! Whenever we go to the park, people want to play with me and Daddy. When people start talking to us, I get distracted and forget why I am there. It must be Daddy's good looks!

I heard Mommy's voice over the telephone today. I can't wait until she is back. But in the meantime, I am learning to love the couch. Daddy lets me sit with him when he is on the computer and I climb onto the top part of the cushion and sit by his shoulders. Sometimes its so comfortable that I fall asleep and sink in between the cushion and the couch. Everyone should try it sometime!

The Longest I have Been Alone

Mommy, Daddy and Ethan left today to explore the city. I was sad that I couldn't go too. Luckily, Mommy and Daddy left the Animal Channel on TV for me to watch while they were gone. That made the time go by faster and I didn't feel as lonely. I did a lot of napping while I waited for Mommy and Daddy to come home and when I woke up again they were home! I did really well while they were gone and did not pee or poop! But as soon as they came home, they took me outside and I made sure to go potty outside! I guess Mommy went to the aquarium today because she surprised me with a squeaky penguin toy when she got home! I have the best Mommy in the world.

Tomorrow Mommy and Ethan are going back to California. I am really sad that Mommy is leaving but at least I will have Daddy to take care of me. Mommy is worried that I won't remember her when she gets back. How could I forget my mommy?

And guess what? I barked today for the first time in front of Mommy and Daddy! I am really starting to show them What I can do!

My First Trip to Lake Michigan

I went to the lake for the very first time today! We had to walk three blocks to the lake from our house, but time flies when you're having fun stopping every ten seconds looking at everything around you! Actually, I prefer to start my walks by having Daddy carry me. I feel like a king, and there is no better way to travel. I hope Daddy continues to carry me when I am a big boy. Eventually Daddy put me down. He said something about me having to learn how to walk on a leash.

When I got to the lake, I discovered an entire area of what I thought was food! Mommy and Daddy kept telling me not to eat the rocks, but I could not resist! Miles and miles of free food (rocks)? The lake is doggy heaven! Mommy had to put me on her lap because I could not stop burying my face in the sand while chewing on the rocks. She complained about me being dirty and having sand all over my face. I didn't mind.

Ethan was my swimming buddy! The water was really cold, and the movement of the water frightened me. Ethan made it in much farther than I could. It doesn't help when Mommy is freaking out about me going in too deep and drowning. Daddy says it is fine and that Mommy is a big worry wart, whatever that is. I eventually just sat on the sand watching Ethan while eating rocks when Mommy and Daddy weren't looking.

By the end of our trip to the lake, I was much better about getting wet. I was still afraid, but at least I put my paws in the water! I hope to make Daddy happy by being a pug that can swim someday!

Guess what? I pooped on our way back home! Mommy and Daddy kept saying what a good boy I was and I got a treat! Maybe I should poop outside more often. I wonder why Mommy doesn't give me treats when I poop in her room?

Something really scary happened on our walk back home. Ethan and I were walking together when a kid on a bike was sprinting towards us. Mommy told us to watch out before he got near us, but the boy tried to sprint through us on the sidewalk and almost fell off his bike while running into me and Ethan. I was really scared. Daddy yelled at the kid and told him bikes don't belong on the sidewalk, especially when you're going that fast. The kid responded by saying that we didn't get out of his way. It looked like Daddy was going to beat up the boy. I felt so protected by Daddy and I know how much he loves and cares for me. Luckily both Ethan and I were okay but we were all shaken up by the accident. Daddy carried me the rest of the way home and now I am ready for a nap!

Woof

My name is Leonard "Bones" McCoy (Royster) and I am the newest member of Justin and Meesa's family! I was born April 22, 2009 which makes me 11-weeks old! I was born in Indiana, but now I live in Chicago with my parents. Mommy and Daddy are starting to figure me out and because I am still young and not potty trained, Mommy has to clean up after my accidents! After a nice nap, I have enough energy to run around the house chasing after balls, playing with my green monster and sliding across the hardwood floors! Television and video games are interesting to me, and I like to sit on the couch and watch the television with everyone else.

Today I pooped, went pee and threw up in the house. After releasing all of my bodily fluids in the house, Mommy and Daddy took me out to the park. I am trying to practice my fetching and I hope to soon learn how to bring the ball back to Mommy and Daddy! We were training when two little girls came to play with me. After a few minutes of play, more kids wanted to play! I was such a hit at the park! So much so that I forgot to potty while at the park. I think Mommy and Daddy started to get tired of the kids picking me up and soon we went back home.

We are going to the lake today so I hope it doesn't rain!
