Weekday Dog Park Adventure

I tried hanging out with the big boys at the dog park today. They all knew each other and claimed to be
"regulars" while their moms and dads talked about their last gathering. Yah yah, I have my own park by my house, suckers.

Geordi humped me almost the entire time, I drank a ridiculous amount of water and opted not to poop during the entire outing. We do a lot of running around at the dog park but we do most of our running right outside the dog park. Why? Because there seems to be an endless amount of heavenly grass and nothing beats rolling around in the cool grass after a hard hour of play. I think this drives mommy crazy because we are so out of gas after our inside dog park-play + outside the dog park-play that we crawl home. As punishment (what else could it be?), Mommy made me take a picture with the tacky turtle in front of all of the cars and people that were passing us on the street.

Can't wait to get back to the park so that I can work on my dog park credibility.

Toy Box

I guess it was bath time for my toys. Mommy came home, took everyone out of the toy box and put them in their bath tub. I had forgotten all about most of the toys but I hope they come back soon because now I want to play with all of them.  My theory is that this sudden bath time for the toys had something to do with this new toy box Mommy brought home. I have no clue how she plans on fitting all of our toys in there but we'll find out when the toys are clean and dry. It's kind of depressing to look at the current condition of the toy box; can you imagine if we only had three toys? Yikes. The new box is oddly shaped but I gave it the sniff around inspection and it passed.

Dog Park Sunday

My favorite time of the year has arrived! Today, we welcomed the cool temperatures by taking a trip to the dog park. For the first time in a long time we played without heat and humidity. Believe me, that is worth celebrating! I was pretty disappointed to find only one other dog there.. Mr. Pickles or something like that. No formal introductions other than between Mommy and Mr. Pickle's dad and I did my own thing. I wasn't feeling his vibe- a little too crazed about that tennis ball of his. Geordi chased him around for a bit but soon found out that he couldn't out entertain Pickle's tennis ball. Pretty lame.

More dogs trickled into the park including a puppy who was probably too young to be at the park with us big kids. I'm no dog park police so who am I to say he can't have fun? He turned out to be the only dog that could keep up with my constant running around, so needless to say, we had a blast. Geordi followed me around the park and humped me in front of all the other dogs. It's true. I'm that dog (especially at school) with the humping brother. I think it embarrassed Mommy more than me but hey, I go to school with the kid.. it's nothing new.

I found some cool grass outside of the dog park and made sure to roll around in it. Take it from me, there is no better way to end a great play session. Hopefully we keep up the fun trips to the dog park because before we know it the cool weather will turn in to winter and this pug can only do so much in booties.

It's a three day weekend which means Mommy will have a lot of free time for things like this. I suppose I'll be doing a lot of embarrassing modeling for her this weekend. The worst part is that her camera and the computer are getting along now which means she can actually do things with the photos from her camera.

This hat came from the depths of the closet and before I knew it, there it was.. on my head. Luckily for Mommy, I am flawless in photos and even when I hate her props, we manage to produce some good photos together. I don't think dogs are allowed at Disneyland but I probably wouldn't like it there anyway. I can only hope that Mommy and Daddy will take me to California again so that I can visit with my Grandma Reesa and all of the dogs and cats in her house that hated me.

Wishing everyone a fun holiday!

Are You Some Kind of Hypnotist?

I know it has been awhile but I've been an extremely busy pug with a lot on my mind. For example, I woke up this morning and found myself mesmerized by an object in our guest bathroom. I asked Mommy what it was afterwards and she called it a plunger. So many thoughts crossed my mind as I fell into the plunger's trance: what is its purpose? How long has this plunger been living in my house? And why does it seem to live such a purposeful life? Mommy said she turned off her hair dryer this morning to find me staring at the plunger, head tilt and all. Honestly, I can't put my finger on it but I felt so inspired. Or tired. Either way, welcome to my world, Plunger.

Bring Back the Cookies

Somebody please tell my mom that Buddy Biscuits are so last year. I don't like them- and being rewarded for my awesome potty skills during our walks with Buddy Biscuits isn't really a reward. For the past two weeks, Buddy Biscuits have made a comeback which can only mean one thing: Mommy is too lazy to go buy the good stuff. I have been protesting this by performing a two-step process. Spit it out immediately and show mommy my look of disgust. And in an attempt to solidify my protest, I let Geordi eat it- something I would normally never ever do. I believe Mommy is misunderstanding Geordi's lack of treat standards for us liking Buddy Biscuits. I must convince Geordi to join in on the protest, otherwise Mommy may never get the point.

Are tasty treats too much to ask for? What is going on with my mother? Bring back the cookies and the apple bacon treats! For goodness sake, I'll even take the healthy carrots! Mom, if you are reading this.. please buy new treats immediately. Your favorite son is unhappy (in the treat department).

February Beach Day

Thank goodness for President's Day because we had sunny weather, mommy all to ourselves and a trip to the beach! A group of ducks were taunting me from the water so I tried my hardest to get to them. But a combination of mommy freaking out and the weather still being in the 30s made me retreat. I'll get those ducks in a few months. It was weird to see snow and sand mixed together but the sand kept my paws from being cold in the snow. I can't wait for spring and summer so that we can make our nightly trips to the beach! Go away winter!

Please stop with the pictures. Okay, maybe just one more.

I feel like Mommy gets a brand new camera too often. And trust me, I KNOW when she has a new camera because I fall victim to it. Luckily for her, I love the spotlight and as long as she gives me treats and gushes over how cute I am- I tolerate it.

I dug up the holiday appropriate rubber xmas bulb toy from the toy box. Before I knew it, Mommy was armed with her new toy snapping away.

Here's to another year of toys and photos! Happy new year.

Santa, you're the best!

Nothing more exciting than a brand new chew bone from Santa! He must have known that my old bone was starting to fall apart. And being a good boy probably helped too. Chewing the purple and yellow nylabone is a pre-bedtime routine and now I have a brand new one to work on while everyone falls asleep before me. Hope your xmas was as awesome as mine!

Missing: Snowman Tie

My holiday tie is missing and I am growing concerned. I don't usually promote clothing or accessories of any kind but my holiday tie get-up is the only exception. Not only do I feel festive but it makes me feel like a really cool pug. I had mommy search in all of the places she usually puts the collection of worthless shirts/jackets, etc but we were unsuccessful in locating it. There are a few holiday events coming up and my missing attire is stressing me out. Seeing as how we (and by we, I mean mommy) searched the entire house with no luck, there is only one logical explanation for the sudden disappearance of my awesome snowman tie: daddy must have thrown it away. Usually I would have no issue- throw away our hoodies, the booties and all of the halloween costumes but my holiday tie? No! Daddy if you are reading this and you did in fact throw it away, please let me know. I may have to ask mommy for a new one.

Will Wobble for Food

This pug's life isn't always easy. Everyone thinks we sit around, sleep, cuddle and eat but now it is time to reveal how untrue that can be. Recently, Mommy and Daddy had the "brilliant" idea to slow down my food intake by putting all of my kibble in my wobble. The wobble was my 1st birthday present. The toy's purpose is to stimulate my brain and use my doggy problem solving skills. Instead of scarfing down my food, I have to work and use my puggy brain before eating! Can you believe that? It really isn't that big of a deal because I love to wobble but I just feel cheated since Bones gets to eat out of his normal bowl.

Oh well, food is food I suppose.

Super Bones.

As most of you know from Geordi's last post, we were unable to escape Halloween. I wanted to be Batman so that I could be like Daddy but apparently Geordi's hair color made him a cooler candidate for the Batman position. Unhappy as I was at first, I started to enjoy my Superman costume. Geordi cried every second he had to wear the costume but I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Not to give Mommy any ideas but I wouldn't mind wearing the cape every once in awhile.

Due to rain rain and more rain, no trick or treating for us this year. Actually, no trip to the botanical gardens either. Hm, this year was a bust! Another Halloween down.

SuperBones out.

Call me Batman.

20111005_170930

Hi friends. Sorry, I have been so bad at blogging lately. We have been attempting to enjoy what is left of warm weather before winter makes its way. Pretty sure it will be here in no time because I have been extra insistent on being under the covers during bed time. Luckily for me, all I have to do scratch the blanket a little bit to let Mommy know when I am ready to make my way into the blanket cave.

Now, the worst part about winter almost being here would be halloween and sweatshirts. We already wore our sweatshirts out one day last week and Mommy managed to buy us last minute costumes even though we are unable to make it to the Spooky Pooch Parade at the botanical gardens this year. I really thought we had managed to escape wearing costumes this year...

Treat Loop Hole

I'm kind of smart and here is why.

Mommy and Daddy give us treats when we go potty during our walks. Geordi is all about getting it all out at once. He pees until there isn't a single drop left and that's that. Then, he runs over to get his treat. He might think his way is better but I've got it figured out.

My methodology is different because I believe in spreading the wealth. A drizzle of pee here, a splash of pee there. If my parents would allow it, I would pee on every single tree/bush/leaf/mushroom/mcdonald's bag on our route. I have outsmarted everyone by splitting up my pee sessions in order to obtain more treats. Here's something I know Mommy won't like: sometimes I don't pee but do my potty dance when Mommy isn't paying attention. Before I know it, she thinks I peed and the treats start coming my way! Sometimes my brilliant plan fails me (usually with Daddy) but sometimes I definitely get more treats than Geordi.

Yup, I'm pretty proud of myself.

Ants!

Guess who gets to see the doggy eye doctor next week? Me! I am tired of this big eye booger living in my eye. Hopefully the eye doctor has some good treats, no plain tasting ones. Mommy agrees and says that with all the moneys this is costing her, the treats better taste like heaven.

Guess who stuck his nose in a pile of ants and had them crawling all over his mouth? Yup, this pug! In my own defense, it was dark and I assumed they were tiny peanut butter treats running around. The minute I stuck my face into this pile of "mini peanut treats" my face felt like it was being bitten a million times. Luckily daddy noticed my face twitching dance and we discovered the problem. Ants! They are everywhere, so watch out!

Happy Birthday Daddy!

I would like to take this time to wish the best daddy (my daddy), a happy happy birthday!

Beach Beach Beach!

First day back from the doggy hotel and we headed straight to the beach! Don't get me wrong, Paradise4Paws was a blast but I missed the outdoors. Now we just need consistently warm weather so we can play at the beach everyday!

This is harder than it looks.

Beach Time!

Walks to the beach have become a nightly routine. I am very excited about this, especially because the weather has been very un-pug-friendly. It's hard walking around the block without overheating but that walk is worth it as long as we are en-route to the beach. The best part? Beach fun has included Daddy!

WaterPug from Meesa Maeng on Vimeo.

Winter was long and I had forgotten how fun and refreshing the beach could be. I was afraid at first but before I knew it, I was fetching sticks in the water and following Daddy out as far as I could go. Daddy and I have been walking out into the water and standing out there, climbing on rocks and standing around just to cool off. Geordi does his own thing, fishing for algae. It got him into some trouble because he became so obsessed with it that he plunged into the deeper part. I became concerned and ran in to help him. He apparently didn't need my help and managed to swim his way out of his clumsy situation.

Happy summer!

Crazy.

20110502_092041

I'm getting closer and closer everyday. But these squirrels are driving me crazy! They dig up our plants, turn around and laugh because I can't do a single thing about it and taunt me all day, everyday. I need help! How do I catch the squirrels?

Grades

Bones and Geordi's report card from their stay at Paradise 4 Paws:

Bones & Geordi were a couple of party animals here at Paradise 4 Paws! Bones is much more people-oriented than Geordi, but they both love a good rump scratch. Bones & Geordi were basically attached at the hip during playtimes-bouncing and barking and running in sync. If one of the pair were to separate, it was usually Geordi first. I think he had a crush on a little Shih Tzu named Sookie. The two of them could often be found chumming around with a pair of French bulldogs, Ziggy & dozer. The four of them were a sight to see! So rambunctious and fun! There were so many distractions that neither of them ate much more than a few bites at meal time. Their potty breaks were all regular htough, so no worries there! Bones and Geordi are two of the most adorable, fun and lively little guys that we have ever met and we truly enjoyed getting to know them over the past few days. we love you Bones & Geordi! Come back and visit us soon!

They were also listed as "Class Clown" in the Classroom category. I'm assuming this was Bones.

Great report card, boys! Let's hang it on the fridge.
