Winter Wear

I have mixed feelings about the winter. I really like playing in the snow, but I really don't like the cold weather. The cold weather also means that my outside time is limited and sometimes non-existing. As much as I love lounging around the house, staying inside all day makes me feel slightly crazed. Luckily, we had a warm week in the 40s and Mommy and I have been going on walks and playing in the snow.

Going outside is great, but during the winter it comes with a lot of preparation. Mommy starts off by putting rubber booties on me. I gave her some trouble when we first tried on the booties but I have accepted that they are necessary and let her put them on. They feel pretty funny and are pretty embarrassing. Every time we go outside, it's the first thing people notice. Mommy is constantly being stopped during our walks and my booties are almost always the topic of conversation. After the booties, I have to wear my fleece camo warmie (thanks Chad and Doger!). Then comes the harness and my water and wind-proof jacket. By the time we're ready to go out, I have on a bazillion layers of clothing.

Even though I do a lot of complaining, I am grateful that Mommy gets me ready. If it wasn't for all the layers and protection, I wouldn't last very long in the cold. For those who live in California, consider yourselves lucky! Winter clothing is pretty uncool.
