Pooch Pride

Last Saturday, Mommy, Aunt Courtney and I went to Pooch Pride Parade. Going to Pooch Pride meant wearing my embarrassing halloween costume in public. Since it made Mommy happy, I kept it on and we walked to the event to meet with Aunt Courtney. For those who don't know Courtney, she is Joe's (Daddy's friend from school) girlfriend. I should also mention that Joe has the best socks to chew on!

Most of the dogs at Pooch Pride were wearing halloween costumes. I was a hit with my frankenstein costume even without wearing the headpiece. Mommy made me pose for some professional photos before we went out to the costume judging. People I didn't know were taking photos of of me and according to Mommy, I was being filmed by a television crew.

When the costume contest began, Mommy and I had to walk up on stage when they called our names. I was really nervous and could not walk up the stairs alone. They announced that there was a tie for the "Best Overall Costume" category and called two dogs on stage for a re-judge. I turned out to be one of the two dogs tied for the win! This is embarrassing, but while waiting for the winner to be announced, I felt so nervous that I pooped! Oops! Unfortunately, I lost to a dog in a pumpkin costume. I wonder if my nervous pooping had anything to do with a pumpkin costume winning?! Mommy isn't a poor sport, but she is still shocked that I lost to a dog in a really lame and unoriginal costume. Sure, I didn't win but I think everybody loved my costume more. I am lucky to have had great supporters like Mommy and Aunt Courtney that day.
